| Mr. Malott is an experienced M & A professional, having led numerous sale and acquisition transactions across a broad variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution, online services, retailing, banking, financial services, agriculture, franchising, aviation, pharmaceuticals and others. With a professional career spanning over three decades in public accounting, commercial banking and investment banking, Mr. Malott has had experience in nearly every industry and business sector and is a quick read on maximizing the value proposition for privately held companies. He is skilled at negotiating and problem solving, both critical skills in getting deals closed for the firm’s clients. |

Prior to joining Shoreline in 1994, Mr. Malott was Executive Vice President and CFO of Bank of Commerce, a San Diego-based bank that grew to become the largest bank SBA lender in the U.S. At Bank of Commerce, he managed two successful public stock offerings and the due diligence review of a proposed bank acquisition. Mr. Malott began his professional career in public accounting with Crowe, Chizek and Company, a major, Midwest-based CPA firm. While serving as a Manager in the firm’s Financial Institutions Group, he was hired as President, CEO and Director of a troubled bank in northwest Indiana. In one year, he successfully restored the bank to profitability, resulting in removal of a regulatory enforcement action and sale to another bank. Following sale of the bank, Mr. Malott looked west and relocated to San Diego.
Mr. Malott earned a BS degree in Business Administration from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana. He served for two years as President of the San Diego Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth and is currently Vice President and Chair of the Executive Committee of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. He has served on the Boards of numerous other professional, civic and charitable organizations. He and his wife and family reside in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego. |
