Mr. Crews has over 25 years of experience as an advisor, founder, financier and manager of venture capital and private equity-backed growth companies.  During his career, Mr. Crews has been directly responsible for raising in excess of $100 million in venture capital and private equity for companies in a variety of industries and at different stages of development.  In addition, Mr. Crews has over 20 years experience as a member of the senior management team of private equity funded companies, including eight years as CEO for three different companies, SynergEyes, Envenergy and Pentech Solutions. 

Mr. Crews was one of two founders and SVP of INC Research, a venture capital-backed pharmaceutical services company.  INC Research now has operations in more than 20 countries, and employs over 1,300 people worldwide.  In 2008, INC Research’s revenues are expected to exceed $220 million.   

Immediately prior to joining Shoreline, Mr. Crews was the co-founder and a Partner in Feron-Crews Company LLC, a private investment and management company functioning as a merchant bank.  Feron-Crews was formed to pursue acquisition opportunities of companies with less than $50 million in annual revenue.

 Mr. Crews also has experience in commercial banking (First Interstate Bank), venture capital (Vista Capital Corporation), and law (Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps, and Aylward, Kintz, Stiska, Wassenaar & Shannahan, the predecessor to the San Diego office of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison). 

Mr. Crews earned his law and MBA degrees from the Ohio State University, and his BA in Business Administration from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, where he was a three year letterman in both basketball and baseball.

Mr. Crews is also an active participant in community service.  Currently, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of San Diego Junior Theatre, the longest continuously running youth theater program in the country, and Educate, a foundation that provides financial and other support to the five public schools in the University City area of San Diego.
